Well today as part of my checklist I go thru before departing I checked my UPS and found that the damn battery was no longer holding a charge. Not so bad as the unit is about 10 years old and has been old faithful for years. I want to order a battery for it as it has been so reliable. I am flying out tomorrow evening so wanting to leave the system protected I looked at the sunday circulars and found a Belkin on Sale at Compusa. Well I run down get one and get it home and about loose my mind when I figure out that when the power goes out and the UPS juice runs out that the UPS does not automatically turn itself back on when the power is restored.
Needless to say I need a UPS that turns itself back on after the interruption. With the wife heading to Japan I will now have to rely on a neighbor to manually turn the damn ups back on after a power interruption. Why these idiots at Belkin built this UPS this way is beyond me. The power management software is worthless.
