Geek News Central is 1 year old today and we want to thank the thousands of Daily visitors to the site. It has been my pleasure to write the nearly 1000 entries on the site. The growth has been fantastic. The first month we averaged 300 unique visitors a day. In August of 2002 we blew out our first server when we had nearly 20 gigs of traffic in 1 week. In January 2003 we crossed the threshold of 10,000 unique visitors a day to the site along with nearly 14,000 people pulling the RSS feed down each day. April has been as spectacular and we Averaged 14,400 unique visitors each day. I never thought we would be read by so many.
I am not a professional editor by trade, the job that keeps food on my families table is a techie job working with Electronics. My love affair with computers and tech started nearly 18 years ago and has not let up since. I can not go without saying Thanks to the volunteer editors who have given up there time to help this thing keep on ticking. My love hate relationship with my hosting provider was a rocky one for a while there but we are glad he is keeping the lights on and allows me the opportunity to be able to afford to keep this site on-line. The main thing I always try to point out I am not a English Major I am a Geek and Geeks write no better than most doctors and I am no exception so when you cringe or scratch your head at a entry just remember were all geeks at heart and some of us are better writers than others.
