The latest edition of Microsoft’s Server OS makes a big mover in the server world. News.com reports that Windows now runs servers on the powerfull Intel Itanium chip.
CEO Steve Ballmer said that Microsoft is hoping that this latest operating system will replace Windows NT 4, which runs on millions of servers world-wide.
Microsoft plans spend around $250 million promoting Windows Server 2003 in all sorts of advertising like television, print, Web and “outdoor advertisements.” At the software launch event, Ballmer publicized new slogans “Do more with less” and “Because we can.” The theme of the release at the launch event in San Francisco is “doing more with less,” Ballmer said according to News.com.
