FreeBSD 4.8 released

FreeBSD.org has released version 4.8 of the operating system. New features include:

• rudimentary hyperthreading in the kernel
• a new in-kernel cryptographic framework
• an IPFilter upgrade
• and various software and driver (firewire, USB, etc.) upgrades.
