The politics involved with Information Security is heating up again. Since Symantec bought SecurityFocus and attempted to conform to the controversial “responsible disclosure” paradigm, the SecFocus mailing lists’ content has changed. Most are prevented from the timely learning of a vulnerability’s details unless they can afford a very high subscription price. Bugtraq, being one of SecFocus’s lists, is also involved in the argument. eWeek has an article about it here.
