Lets say I make Geek News Central a registered trademark which is highly doubtful considering how much it cost to do such a thing. But lets assume I have. Then you register a domain that say Ihate-geeknewscentral.com which I am sure none of you would :). Most of us are Intelligent enough to realize that hey people have opinions it’s a free world and move on. Some may even have a site up that could be a satire where you make fun of Geek News Central. Well the Supreme Court has ruled that these critical domain names do not necessarily hurt the trademark owner.
This is a huge win and for all of those sites that have been sued by Anal corporations the average Joe protester may not loose his domain just because he is being critical or making fun at a company. [Cnet News.com]
