Why in the world did Yahoo by Inktomi? Seems they got the company at fire sale prices. But I wonder if they don’t have a bigger plan. They went to a pay model some time ago to get listed and quite honestly it is not worth it. They already inked a deal to supplement there search queries with Google data so I am not sure there reasoning. Unless they are going to dump Google and replace it with the Inktomi search engine which in my opinion has always sucked.
Google is beating Yahoo at it’s own game. So long as Google can stay on track then I think Yahoo just flushed 200+ Million down the toilet. [News.Com]
