We have about 200 VHS movies here at the house mostly stuff for the kids that my wife has picked up at Garage sales etc. I have had a very nice massive entertainment system a hold over from my single days when I had more money than common sense. I looked for a long time on how to integrate the new home theater systems into the existing system. I did not want my 3 or 4 thousand dollar investment to go to waste. Finally we bit the bullet and bought a off the shelf standard Home Theater system. The added mini speakers and sub-woofer really added to the superior sound the system already put out.
As more and more people are buying DVD players manufactures are getting on board and adding a lot of interesting added value equipment/functionality to the new selections. Some of the added value has a high BS factor tied to it but heck people will buy anything these days. [SF Gate]
