Consumer Alert Fujitsu Hard-drives!

Well I am a bit apprehensive I have 2 Fujitsu drives in one of our main servers. Big bad boys 75 gig drives. Well It turns out Fujitsu has a major problem on there hands in that drives of a certain class are failing faster than the leaves dropping off the tree’s. With expectations that failures could reach 4.9 million drives in a very short order.

My suggestion have a Fujitsu drive in that box of yours pull the top compare the model information and get critical applications and files of those drives now. Great time to buy a couple of 120 Gig drives anyway.

I did some searching and found a old article on The Register but it appears there is more happening behind the scenes than first thought. Potentially this could mean class action lawsuits.
