From the files of I wish I would have thought of that. A French company has come up with a car that travels at 65mph for 140 miles on compressed air. Talk about a virtually free commodity and non-polluting. [BBC]

I read somewhere that when the air in the eingine gets compressed it gets heated up to 400 degreed celcius. Won’t the “burn” some components in the air? For example Nitrogen could combust with Oxygen and form Nitrogen dioxide couldn’t it? Is this possible?
