Wahoo Fitness is showing off the KICKR Power Trainer at CES 2013. It was named a Best of Innovation Award Winner. The KICKR Power Trainer is the worlds first iPhone powered bike trainer. If you live in an area where the weather prevents you from exercising outside, but you want to have the feel of riding outside than you may want to take a look at the KICKR Power Trainer.
The KICKR Power Trainer allows cyclist and triathletes to set resistance and accurately measure power all from their iPhone. KICKR Power Trainer connects to the iPhone using Bluetooth 4.0 and ANT+technology. The user can increase or decrease the resistance and simulate real-world conditions. They can also structure interval workouts all from their smart phone. These adjustments occur almost instantaneously so the user can go from rolling hills to flat land and then to a hard hill climb almost immediately. The KICKR Power Trainer uses a wheel off design and super flywheel and is engineered to produce a realistic road feel. The power is measured at the hub and provides consistent and accurate power readings for every mile. Because it uses a wheel off design there is no need for calibration and the powers is consistent and accurate every single time. The resistance is driven by your iPhone or tablet during the ride and you can go from a 15% grade to coasting downhill immediately. If you are at CES 2013 you can see the KICKR Power Trainer at South Hall S2 Booth #26525.
