SCO Source code to be revealed to closed courtroom

Just like a good conspiracy novel SCO has won a judgement to have the court closed when it reveals the section of code that supposedly made it into the Linux kernel. I am prediciting it will only be a mater of time before this information is leaked. What is really funny is that in essence the code has already been

Optima sues Roxio

Optima a company I have never heard is suing Roxio for patent infringement. They supposedly hold a patent on a CD burning method that has been widely adopted. This appears to me to be another case of a company trying to get rich of the backs of other companies hard work. What will be interesting to see is how long

Winamp version 5 released

Winamp version 5 released today. If any of you download it I am very curious on how it is going to perform and if they have kept the size down as not to slow systems down. [Winamp]

New dad not sleeping much

Well we have the baby home and mom is sleeping and I have the night shift seems the fellow has his time frames all switched. He wants to spend 12am to 4am awake and most of the day sleeping. Such is life with a newborn. But it does give me a few minutes to catch up on news.

I Can’t See You Anymore

Light travels at 186,000 miles (300 million meters) per second in a vacuum but physicists in the United States and Russia are just a little bit faster, actually capturing the light photons and stopping them in their tracks. The newly-developed technique offers opportunities to improve optical communication, manage quantum data, a boon to the future of both communication and digital security.

This will give those of us that battle spam down in the trenches a win for the techies. It may also make some of the other spammers think twice. Getting rid of all the US Spammers

EZ-Pass catching crooks, cheaters and liars

Imagine the boss is out of town you have your work caught up you decide to blast out of work early a couple of days in a row. Lets say your boss pays for your EZ-Pass tolls from your company car and discoveries when reading the bill you skipped out early. Or you are in a custody battle and your

SCO Under DOS attack again

Apparently SCO needs to hire some System Administrators that have a clue on how to prevent this third DOS attack. But maybe they are spending most of there cash on the Lawsuit with IBM? They are being criticized by industry experts for not beefing up there security and not employing technology that can beat these DOS attacks. They may know

Teraserver has the Entire United States Mapped

I think this is way cool. I have always hoped that someday I would be able to buy high quality overhead satellite imagery of the home I grew up in and my Grandfathers farm. Seems Teraserver has the entire united stated mapped now and simply by entering your address you can get a 1 meter overhead image of the location

Cnet sending sites cease and desist letters on linking

Update this article has dissappeared from Lockergnome but is referenced on The Mortuary Portal we have the full story as it was originally posted on the extended entry. Give me a break if Cnet is so paranoid that they have to send out Cease and Desist letters to tell sites to quit linking to their content then I think they
