Sony is stuck between a rock and a hard place they think the Apple Ipod is a great product. But they have released limited MP3 products. I have always thought it odd that the King of Electronic Devices have had such piss poor MP3 Players. The Wired article points out what is really obvious Sony has a Music recording component and it conflicts with there business plan as they are frozen to inaction due to privacy concerns.
Sony is a member of the RIAA and the Consumer Electronics Association it has tried to play both sides of the fence the wired article goes into great detail and is a great piece of what can happen when your own business interest conflict with other divisions. They want there cake and want to eat it to but are just scared of opening Pandora’s box. [Wired]
