The New York Times has an interesting article on how several broadband companies are adding residential phone service to there line-up. I am sure that if Road Runner here in Hawaii adds the service many will drop Verizon like a bad habit.
My wife is constantly bitching about the cost of the added services like call waiting caller ID etc on our phone line. I can’t say that I blame her our phone service is like $50.00 a month. If I could keep all the features and cut my bill by 50% I would be in seventh heaven.
My home is located in a dead volcanic crater (hope it stays dead) and the cellular service is not the best till you drive up out of the crater. This is the only thing that has stopped us from going 100% cellular. Time will tell if the ISP’s will set us free.[NYT]
