Smart Ski Airbag Vest Named CES Innovation Awards Nominee

In&Motion is a start-up that is specialized in the design and production of wearable smart systems. The ski airbag vest is their first innovation. The In&Motion smart ski airbag vest has been named as a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Wearable Technologies product category.

The In&Motion ski airbag vest is a revolutionary embedded protection solution in the form of a vest worn under a ski suit. It is capable of detecting an unavoidable fall and inflating in less than 100 milliseconds in order to protect the most sensitive areas of the body before the impact with the ground.

The intelligence of the system is contained in the In&box (which is a box placed in the back of the vest), and an array of technologies that make up the “brain” of the airbag. It includes sensors and the algorithm.

The In&Motion ski airbag vest has been approved by the International Ski Federation (FIS) and is now worn by Ski cross racers for the 2015-2016 season. For now, the In&Motion ski airbag vest is reserved for professional skiers. It will be available in stores for the 2016-2017 season.
