Are you ready to roll a Panda? I am! I’ve got the name picked out, have decided to roll a male character, and intend to have him eventually be “For the Horde!” This is something I’ve been thinking about, and planning, ever since I first heard about the Mists of Pandaria, (MoP) expansion.
Those of you who are new to World of Warcraft, and jumping into the game with the MoP expansion, might benefit from some background information. You can start by reading World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War by Christie Golden. This book gives readers an excellent transition from the events that took place in the Cataclysm expansion to the setting of the Mists of Pandaria expansion.
There’s also a graphic novel called World of Warcraft: Pearl of Pandaria that you can check out. It is being released the same day that MoP is, September 25, 2012. As is the case with most graphic novels, it shouldn’t take you too long to read it before you log into WoW. Together, these two resources should give new players enough lore to “get” what is happening when they start playing the MoP expansion.
