A application I had on this box that I have not used in months apparently had a security issue and you guessed it the busy bees got into the box, GoDaddy was worried that the box was compromised and wanted to re-provision. Well I have been thinking for a while that this domain needed some more horses under the hood so it gave me and exuse to put it on a dedicated server. The move has not been all that fun as you can expect getting everything setup in a couple of days is a pain.
They wanted the box re-provisioned pretty quickly so I pulled a all nighter to get everything set. Thank God for backups. We have a few bugs to work out and of course some of you are still hitting the old machine and probably will not find this info out for a day or 2 but that gives me time to get this one taken care of.
I will discuss in length the securty issue that caused all this madness. Needless to say the vendor never sent out a warning and the notice did not show up on any advisory list I am on so we will have a lot to chat about.
