I live breath and sweat RSS, XML, OPML, Phishing, Podcasting and a half dozen other terms. How many times do you say to people, I read my news via a news aggregator it’s real simple you just subscribe to a RSS feed.
You know you have lost them when they look at you like your an Alien, and until you can sit down with them and show what a news aggregator can do the light comes on and you have a convert.
We as geeks must do a better job describing this. I have actually scripted certain response to typical interview questions, and have them at the ready. The reason for this is I want to stay consistent and make it easier for the common man to really understand what these terms are and how they make their lives more efficient. That is of course till they add a 1000 news feeds to their reading list. :)
