First of all let me state that I am 100% behind any law that will require people to prove who they are, and if they have a legal right to be in this country.
I want states to make people prove who they are in order to get a drivers license, get a bank account, open a business, have a utility account, get a bank loan, cash a check, have the water turned on in an apartment, rent a hotel room you know the things that people in this country can do legally now with a drivers license and actually not be legal to live here.
The drivers license for to long has been the key to all of these services. For far too long getting a driver license with falsified information has been taking place. I am even in favor of a National ID, this ID needs to be linked to a database that has a fingerprint or some other absolute way to assure you are who you say you are and the requirements for getting that national ID, and or driver license should be tough.
Along with that I am also support some form of farm labor act that would allow the hiring of migrant workers. Lets face it the vegetables on your table are today are being harvested by migrant workers and you better be happy they are because if you thought gas was expensive wait to you have to pay the labor bill for some unionized harvesting crew. You would need to go get a federal loan every time you went to the grocery store.
Are their hard decisions to be made absolutely, but I can tell you one thing I want my children to be able to grow up and raise their kids in a country that is as safe as my government can make it, and still assure our constitutional freedoms. [Cnet]
