Did TSA lie about personal information it collected about you?

The linked article if true is not a good sign in the personal privacy department. I had written TSA last year when they were thinking about building a list that would allow pre-screened passengers to have expedited passage through airport security.

The point I made to them is you have military people protecting this country and the majority of them know stuff that are not allowed to talk about. So if Uncle Sam trust them to keep their mouths shut then they should be able to trust them to get on a airplane.

I actually received a personal letter in the mail back saying thank you for the idea as it was a good one. Well guess what they still are trying to figure out security procedures. But their ill handling of personal information really has made me wonder if they know what their doing or not. [www.schneier.com]
