MPAA sues DVD chip manufacture which apparently allowed Fair Use Recordiongs

Apparently a DVD manufacture in Taiwan was producing DVD players which outputs could be recorded. The MPAA does not like it when companies push the boundaries that allow consumers to have fair use of the data that they buy. I suppose some naysayer will say hey you don’t buy music you license it. Well semantics aside I feel everyone should be able to make a backup copy of whatever media they purchase.

If the MPAA and RIAA would replace ever CD and DVD that I have as they fail at no charge I would not care but being they would not consider that then I feel it is within my rights to copy DVD’s I own and keep a backup copy. [dvd-recordable.org]
