Just what does a DOS attack cost you?

Sites that get hit with a DOS attack have more to worry about than the availability of their site. Someone has to pay for all of that bandwidth and sites like spywareinfo.com which are generally supported thru donations and banner ads end up paying the fee out of their own pocket.

I would imagine that Insurance companies would someday start offering some Insurance to websites that are worried about a DOS service attack. I know if my web presented me a bill for an additional $700.00 in bandwidth fees that the attack generated for spywareinfo.com I would about have a heart attack.

I have pre-purchased a significant amount of bandwidth but DOS attacks can stack up to be 100’s of gigabytes of traffic which would definitely hurt. [Spywareinfo.com]

P.S we encourage you to help them out in covering their bills.
