Would anonymous DSL stand up in court

Imagine having DSL service where your service provider promised to not keep any logs of how their IP’s are distributed. I am sure the ISP will have a lot of subscribers. But by publicly stating that they are not going to log any IP info then they have just put a big target on their chest. Those in government like to close loopholes that companies create to protect their subscribers.

In my experience in supervising 3 ISP’s launch of new services the goal was to give the best service hands down and to go the extra mile to support the customers. This initial ideology allowed us to keep our churn rates to the lowest in the nation. We did not need the type of customers that needed to hide behind an ISP.

On the other hand with the tactics some companies have been playing the last couple of years I can fully understand why people want to hide. [Techdirt]
