Software that kills file swapping

Sounds like a pipe dream to me, yet a company called Audible Magic has been making the rounds in Washington DC sucking up to anyone that will listen to them talk about their technology which when embedded inside the sharing networks will be able to detect copyright material and kill downloads etc.

Seems they want to get there product put into popular networks like Kazaa. I think that has a fat chance of happening but imagine being a developer and then being told by the government that you must embed the software from a third party company into your source code. Scary stuff if you think about it. [ZDNet]
