I laugh every-time I read one of these articles. How to make money blogging! This headline reminds me of an rudimentary article I paid for a number of years ago that was titled “how to make money running a BBS”. I have operated a BBS for nearly 15 years and at it’s peak prior to the Internet revolution we had 16 dial in lines and nearly 2000 callers. We made money for a few years but if I average the income over cost thru those 15 years I am at a very big grand loss. The BBS cost me less today because it is simply plugged into the Internet and hammers a way daily without much intervention. Like Geek News Central I never expected to make money with the BBS this sites readership is off the charts but the idea of transitioning it to a money making venture does not fully add up.
When I launched this site the goal was to try and bring some technical spin analysis to daily news commentary. The analysis we provide is our own and not always politically correct but if I can entertain a few of you then I remain encouraged to build the site to have greater content.
I was blown away today when I rcvd nearly 500 messages from well wishers that basically said don’t sweat being busy with your job we will wait for your return. It blew me away and makes me appreciate you all that much more.
I am obviously not a professional writer but I do work heavily with new technology and go to work excited everyday. I work with a bunch of geeks so it is fun to be around those that can relate. I and the other editors will continue to post interesting tidbits. Thanks for your support.
