The big bad Internet is starting to hurt the Bells in that people are tired of paying $19.95 for basic service plus another $20.00 for caller id voicemail etc. I recently canceled all of my extra features on my phone refusing to be overcharged.
At this point I am ready to make the switch to VOIP and give it a run for several months and if we are happy I am going to flip my middle finger at GTE and say bye bye. If my cell provider would fix the coverage in the valley I live in I would have canceled my regular phone already. [Silicon Valley]
