I am a bit obsessive about looking at my referral logs and apparently a Geek our there in Cyberspace is looking for a wife. I had to smile as being a geek can sometimes be a lonely thing. The impersonal nature of computers and the positive feedback they give you ;) makes most true geeks excellent socialites. My wife definitely did not marry me entirely for my good looks at least I think she thought I was a intelligent fellow.
As I travel through the United States I am amazed at how many people just don’t have a clue. Don’t get me wrong I work with some of the best people in the Aerospace and Electronics industry and some of these people probably think I don’t have a clue as there is a lot of very smart people out there. But when I get out into the cities I am in and try and have a intelligent conversation there is a definite air gap in the type of people I am running into. I am sure if I lived in these cities then with time I would hook up with people of similar interest but as any geek knows that is easier said then done.
The desire for people to learn new things is really there as I get to talking to people I find that my conversations turn into mini training sessions. I just hope those that I run into leave my presence smarter than when they met me and that it was a positive experience.
So for the Geek out there that is looking for a wife do not despair there is a dynamic person out there for you. My only suggestion is get out of the house and by getting out a trip to CompUSA doesn’t count get out and go where the people are at. I am amazed by the number of single people out there looking for Mr Right. Good Luck!
