Our Service provider blew a hard drive last week which resulted in the site being down a lot longer than it should have ever been. A key point in any web-hosting business is to assume the worst can happen and prepare for it. The Customer is King and you go all out to keep your customer Happy. I am not Happy at this point. When I am not happy you can bet that I am going to cause them some pain.
Not to mention we had done laid out some cash to a pretty high profile site as I was going to be on a posting spree over the holiday but that did not happen and the majority of the click-thrus got the user-name and password page that kept popping up.
I screamed pretty loud and it did not help very much so at this point I am happy we are back on-line but I am still quite pissed at Infinology. I found out a lot about Web-host over the past 5 days. I will be talking a great deal about that subject in the next week.
Things got so bad they had to move us to another server we will see how this one does. But it was missing some key modules and I was unable to post after we came back on-line. The forum section is still broken and we will be making some changes with the forum. I will be moving the forums to a server that I own and control. We also will be hooking up with another provider and I will be mirroring this site on another host to prevent what happened over the past 5 days.
If you are considering putting up your own site don’t assume all host are created equal.
