iDevices and Hubbell Debuted Co-Developed Tech Products at CES 2018

iDevices, the preeminent brand in the connected home industry, partnered with two portfolio brands of parent company Hubbell Incorporated to develop a Wi-Fi enabled electric vehicle charger and a ceiling fan controller. Both products debuted at CES 2018.

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger allows users to control, monitor, and schedule their charger from anywhere with their mobile device. The Ceiling Fan Switch gives users the ability to control fan speed and lighting with their voice or mobile device.

The compact and powerful EV Charger gives users the ability to remotely control, monitor and schedule the charge of their vehicle from anywhere with their mobile phone and the free iDevices Connected app. Users can track their vehicle’s charging status, get an instant alert if their vehicle is unexpectedly unplugged, and set custom charging schedules and time delays.

The EV Charger was developed with Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems, a division of Hubbell Incorporated.

Like all iDevices products, EV Charger doesn’t require a hub, works with Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant, and is compatible with iOS and Android devices. EV Charger is available in both hardwired and plug-in models that mount directly to a home’s garage wall.

The Ceiling Fan Switch, a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled fan controller, reinvents the traditional ceiling fan by adding smart functionality through an elegantly designed wall switch and canopy receiver – allowing users to control their fan’s speed and lighting with a simple voice command to Siri, Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant.

The Ceiling Fan Switch works with most ceiling fans, features three speeds, and energy monitoring from anywhere with the iDevices Connected app. It was developed with Progress Lighting, another leading brand in the Hubbell Incorporated portfolio.

The EV Charger and Smart Fan Control will be available in 2018.

iDevices Instinct Embeds Alexa into Walls of Homes

iDevices, the preeminent brand in the connected home industry, is integrating voice service capabilities directly into the walls of any room. When a standard light switch is replaced with the Instinct, users gain the functionality of a smart light switch, standalone voice assistance, ambient light sensor and motion detector – all in one product.

“The iDevices Instinct is a breakthrough in the smart home industry. It represents the next evolution in our extensive line of premium connected solutions,” said Chris Allen, president of iDevices. “The Instinct is one of many innovations to come from iDevices, forever changing the home as we know it.”

With the Instinct, users can not only manage connected products, but also listen to music, find a new recipe and get the news with premium sound by Soen Audio. Motion and light sensors allow users to automate lights and receive custom alerts, providing energy savings and peace of mind.

The Instinct works in concert with iDevices’ extensive line of smart home solutions and other Alexa-enabled products like Amazon Echo. The Instinct’s lighting functions can also be controlled with the iDevices Connected app, Siri and the Google Assistant. With over-the-air updates, the Instinct is futureproof, meaning users will always have the latest technology installed throughout their home.

The intentionally traditional design of the Instinct fits into the décor of any room, and its voice-activated LED ring lights up to reveal its intelligence. As with all iDevices products, the Instinct is hub-free and compatible with iOS and Android.

The iDevices Instinct will be available in 2018.

iDevices Introduces Instant Switch at CES 2017

iDevices, the preeminent brand in the connected home industry, introduces Instant Switch at CES 2017. Instant Switch is a wireless, remote smart home control.

Instant Switch is a remote wireless, Bluetooth Smart wall switch that allows users to designate additional points of power control anywhere in the home, with no installation or wiring required. Instant Switch’s patent pending design secures flush to any wall like a traditional light switch, and, through Bluetooth technology, pairs to any iDevices power and lighting smart home product to offer users unlimited flexibility and extended control of their home, with Android, Alexa-enabled, and HomeKit-compatible functionality.

No longer limited to the light switches installed in a home, users can instead place Instant Switch anywhere, without the usual construction, wire-running, or electrical installation. Designed to mimic a permanently installed light switch, Instant Switch can be fitted over an standard two-screw wall plate and comes with an iDevices wall plate for added convenience. Stick-on,Command adhesive backing makes it possible to mount the Instant Switch with just a peel-and-stick to the wall. A built-in ball level ensures perfect placement and the batteries have a two-year lifespan.

When Instant Switch is paired to a hard-wired iDevices Wall or Dimmer Switch, it creates an instant 2-way control configuration. Users can add an Instant Switch wherever they’ve always wanted to have a standard wall switch. One by the bedside can control lights on the first floor or one can be added to a room with no switches at all. The possibilities are endless and now anyone in a home can control connected products.

Instant Switch will be on display at CES 2017, Sands Expo Level 2, Halls A-D, Booth # 41624.

Music in the Morning with the iShower

iShower Bluetooth SpeakerAt last year’s CES, iDevices showed off the iGrill, a Bluetooth-enabled cooking thermometer. This year, they’re back with iShower, a waterproof speaker. Andy and Don tune in with Jonathan Conelias from iDevices.

As with the iGrill, the iShower is Bluetooth-enabled, playing audio from iOS, Android and Blackberry phones. In fact, any device that can stream music via Bluetooth will work with the iShower and up to five devices can be paired. Naturally the iShower is waterproof, making it suitable for the shower, swimming pool and beach. Buttons on the iShower can control the music, skipping backwards and forwards through the playlist.

The iShower’s rich sound speaker cuts through the noise of the shower and in good taste, there’s no microphone. If you were thinking of taking a phone call in the shower, think again. A mounting bracket is supplied and complementary accessories such as a mirror make this a complete shower solution.

The iShower will be available from March both online and in good retail stores with an MSRP of $99.99.
