XOEye Brings Wearable Solutions To Industry At CES

Training and assisting employees tends to take up a significant amount of a company’s time and resources, especially in industries such as engineering and manufacturing. But thanks to the innovations that XOEye is bringing to the table, the workplace is about to become much more efficient.

Jamie and Nick interviewed John Calahan from XOEye, a software company that’s working to bring augmented reality solutions to the workplace. XOEye works with wearable and other smart technology companies to create custom solutions to allow employers to train, manage, and support their employees.

iSketchnote Brings Pen & Paper Sketches To iPad At CES

The iPad is the perfect tool for creativity, productivity, and innovation. However, it’s often difficult to draw and write on an iPad using your finger or stylus. The folks at ISKN have developed a solution that will make creating digital art and notes much easier.

Jamie and Nick interviewed Claudia Vance from ISKN about iSketchnote, a product that instantaneously transfers your pen-and-paper notes and drawings to your iPad. Just place a notebook or sheet of paper over the Bluetooth-connected Slate and use the included pens to draw or write whatever you want. As you sketch, your creations will be digitized instantly, and you can view and edit them using the free iSketchnote app on your iPad.

Denon Innovates Presentations with Kudo at CES

We’ve all heard the horror stories of presenters who showed up to a location only to find that the venue’s in-house presentation system isn’t compatible with whatever gear they’ve brought with them. Usually, a combination of NASA-like engineering and prayer follows and eventually, the presenter’s device is made to work with the venue’s A/V system. Denon’s new Kudo presentation device should make these kinds of nightmare scenarios a thing of the past.

Nick and Jamie met with Eric from Denon. Eric showed off the new Denon Kudo, a portable device that will hopefully be found soon in every conference room or meeting hall with a projector. Kudo takes a number of different inputs: USB, HDMI, LAN, WiFi, bluetooth, micro SD, AirPlay, MirrorCast and DLNA. It then takes that input signal and outputs it in glorious 4K to any projector or other A/V device. Kudo is platform agnostic, so it fully supports the bring-your-own-device movement. Got an iPad or Android phone? Mac or Windows laptop? No problem. Kudo works with all of them.

Snail Games Leverages the Power of Android at CES

The video game market is ready for some real disruption. For years, gamers have been tied to consoles, PC’s or mobile devices, all of which have their limitations. Snail Games is a technology company that got its start in software and game design. Now, the company is moving into the hardware space and its employing the Android operating system in some impressive ways.

Nick and Jamie had a conversation with Tim from Snail Games. Tim brought two of his company’s newest devices with him. The first is the W3D mobile gaming platform. The W3D runs Android and it has specific game-centric controls built right into the device. And if that’s not enough, the W3D is also a full-fledged Android phone. Next up is the OBox, a game console that also runs Android. The OBox is modular in design and its GPU, CPU, RAM, and storage can all be upgraded. Also, the W3D and OBox can interact in some very useful ways. For example, the OBox controller can be used as a controller for the W3D or the W3D’s screen can be streamed to the OBox where it can be fed to a large-screen display.

Burg Smartwatch Mixes Luxurious Design and High-Tech Features at CES

2015 is poised to be the year of the smartwatch. And even tho a certain big technology brand is set to release its first smartwatch this year, smartwaches themselves have been around for awhile. Indeed, Burg has been developing its own smartwatches for several years now. And while other smartwatch manufacturers put technology first, Burg has put its focus on style and design.

Nick and Jamie had a conversation with Steven from Burg. Steven came by armed with the Burg 27, a stylish smartwatch packed with tons of cool features. Burg watches use an electronic display that, by default, shows a dial for telling time. Each watch comes with a number of dials available and users can change them at will. A simple swipe across the watch screen reveals access to an impressive number of applications. Everything you’d expect is there; phone, messaging, social media and web browsing. But the Burg watch also comes with health-tracking apps and even a 2-megpixel camera that can be used with services like Skype. Also, the Burg smartwatch can operate independently using an onboard SIM. There’s no need to rely on your phone to use the apps built into a Burg watch. But you can still pair it with a phone if need be.
