On Location of the Podcast Expo
I am all in place in Ontario and it looks like Federal Express has everything here that was supposed to be. Met up with Doug Kaye from IT Conversations and Paul Figgiani from Podcast Rigs and chatted for a couple of hours. Doug says nearly 75 people are signed up for the all day training session tomorrow and I am very happy about that. Connectivity tomorrow will be limited but I should get updates out late in the day.
Ohh and here is a little tip start watching the Podcaster News Network site late Thursday night!

Anil Dash wants Flickr to Pay users!
I say bravo! This is a great idea and goes along with this thought process I have been having for a long time in podcasting that Podcasters do the work, Podcasters get paid. This is the model we are going to use at Podcaster News Network (www.podcasternews.com). Podcasters create the content and then we share a large portion of the advertising dollars we bring in. We host the content and take care of the infrastructure so the podcasters can focus on content. We do the ground work to bring in the advertisers.
Will it be a challenge sure everything is a challenge. But when your getting ready to launch the worlds first dedicated Podcasting News Network that will cover news, entertainment, politics, religion, business in a Paul Harvey and Short story format I cannot imagine anything that will be more cool.
So yes Flickr should pay those that contribute to the eco system. After all setting up a web based photo sharing site is pretty easy these days and you can put your own ads on the site. [Anil Dash]

The Podcaster News Network beta testers have been banging away at the site now for about a week and we may be ready to start letting some of the public have a look at the site in about another week. How would you like a look? I have a list of reporters, bloggers, podcasters that want to take the tour and to be cut loose on the site but I forgot to invite some listeners in.
