Well the folks at NASA/JPL are faced with a dilemma, that may spell the demise of the Opportunity Rover. They are trying to determine how they should drive the Rover into the Victoria Crater but they are not necessarily worried about driving out. Thus the Opportunity Rover could very well be on a one way ticket into a crater to collect science. [BBC]

Mars Orbiter returning fasinating data!
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) still in shakedown mode in preparing to start its mission in November is causing scientist to sit back in awe as it is providing the most detailed images along with the most complex compositional reports to date. All systems on the orbiter are working great and everyone is pretty excited about the data that is going to be collected. [NASA/JPL]
Spirit finds sedimentary rocks in Gusev
After two years of waiting Spirit has found sedimentary rocks on Mars. I was carbon copied on a e-mail from a very excited scientist with some pictures attached. I don’t think their has been a public release by JPL yet waiting on permission to post the pictures. But from the excitement in the e-mail this is huge.
