No FIOS in Hawaii and Limited High Speed Bandwidth Options

As we are now in the middle of our move to our new home I was hoping to find some alternative high speed options. Currently I have Cable Broadband as provided by Oceanic Cable which is part of Time Warner. I also have a ClearWire connection and hopefully the coverage maps are correct as I am not a 100% positive that it will work in our new home.

Calling the local phone company all they have is crappy 3mps DSL the are I am in even though it is a swarming new development area does not have a central switch close enough to me to get higher speed service.

Which like many other people in the country I am essentially pounding my head against the wall trying to figure out how to get more bandwidth without breaking the bank.

It is not that the download speed is the issue it is the push speed that absolutely blows here. I pay for the turbo service with road runner and that is supposed to get me 512kbs upstream but it never really comes close to that.

For as small as Hawaii is you would think we would be a natural fit for FIOS but from what I can tell we will probably never see it here.
