I have been really thinking the past couple of days about the implications of the Google Custom Search and have done a full implementation on sections of this website. I know via recent analysis of log files that visitors to this site do several thousand searches each week. That’s not a lot but more than I expected.
One thing that has always bothered me is that I contribute to more than one site, so what visitors may not be find here may be on, one of the other websites. Up to today search was centralized to this site only but now you can search four of the sites I contribute at. It will be curious to analyze the traffic changes that result from running my custom Google search engine.
Give the new search a try on the sidebar and look at the cool way the results are displayed. The speed is pretty amazing as well, much faster than the internal search. All of the sites I post on also have sitemap.xml file this assures that all of my pages are indexed.
