EbTech Products saves the day

Over the past year we have been doing the Tech Podcast Round Tables live via a Phone Bridge. Well Recently we added another dimension. Some people call into the program via Skypecast and some dial in. So my challenge has been to make sure that the folks on Skype can hear the folks on the Phone Bridge and also the other way around.

This has been a real problem because in order to do that I have to have 2 computers running along with some tricky wire routing. Well I got it all dialed in except I was getting line hum that I just could not overcome on computer two. It was quite honestly driving me crazy.

Last week I got a sales magazine from BSW, and as I always do I was scouring the magazine for new stuff and what I found were these two products from EbTech. One was a line level shifter, and the other was a hum eliminator. I immediately got on the phone and got a tech on the line and explained my dilemma. I ended up buying one of each for $59.00 each, and today when I tested the system with these two boxes integrated I could have about jumped for joy as we have clean audio all through the system.

So on Sept 2nd when we have our next Round Table things are going to be much smoother. One thing that I can pass on is that HP Laptops and there external Power supplies apparently are not grounded very well because I always have trouble with ground loop noise on my Pavilion zd8200, but EbTech killed the ground loop noise. So the magic I do to make this whole thing sing when we are doing live events is all dialed in.

Someday we will figure out how to do this with one PC but at this point bridging dial in conference call participants and those on Skypecast requires two computers. Thanks EbTech for making my life a lot easier. [www.ebtechaudio.com]
