Yahoo! purchased Konfabulator, a Mac and Windows application that uses Widgets, or JavaScript programs to place useful applets on your desktop. You can choose from thousands of widgets and it’s very easy to create your own widgets. I’ve made one that shows the last 5 articles on Surf-Bits. Yahoo! will be giving this $19.95 shareware program away for free!
According to Tony Schnieder, VP at Yahoo!, “The acquisition of Konfabulator may not be the last Mac compatible product users see from Yahoo! While Schneider wasn’t specific, he did say that there was interest in the Mac.“There is a move at Yahoo! — in addition to Konfabulator — to move more onto the Mac,” said Schneider. “We want to make sure we find a way to be more cross platform.” MacWorld
