For several years I have been wanting to build a dedicated personal file server. After my wife’s machine died and I had replaced it, I had a spare case with a huge 550 watt power supply in it. Digging thru my junk boxes I found a older AMD XP 1000 and board that had 384 megs of Ram on it. Plus I had a spare IDE card. Well now my spare hard drive drawer is empty and I have 6 hard drives with lots of fans stuffed into the box none of them are smaller than 120 gigs which makes for an amazing file server.
Wife just wrinkles her nose but hey boys and their toys.
