IBM to provide digital lockbox for consumers

IBM is set to announce a software initiative that will allow media companies to protect there data while also allowing consumers “supposed fair use” I am highly skeptical of any software solution. It sounds to me as a solution for those worried about DRM issues and is another step in restricting consumer freedoms.

Corporate America is hell bent on locking down there data because they don’t trust consumers and at some point people are going to have say we have had enough of these power plays and boycott some of these companies for real. [Cnet]
