AOL Time Warner is testing a service for it’s subscribers that will allow a TiVo rip-off like interface which allows consumers to record and playback TV shows. But being AOL Time Warner wants to protect there bottom line. Advertisements will still be forced up on the user. It is also not a local device and delivers the show via there IP enabled cable network.
I am not sure about you but the cable modems services are already slow enough. If they start sending this kind of data down that same pipe the broadband service will degrade even further. [ZDNet]
