Android Games: Angry Birds Seasons Updated, New Temple Run Released

If you like mobile games and own an Android device then this has been a pretty good week.  Rovio released their summer update for Angry Birds Seasons, called “Piglantis”, and Imangi has released a brand new Temple Run game.  Angry Birds is probably the most popular mobile game of all time, with Angry Birds Space setting a download record when it was released.  Temple Run has also established itself near the top of the popularity list.

Angry Birds Seasons added 30 new levels and, as the name suggests, the new levels are played in an underwater environment.  This brings a whole new set of physics laws to the game, and Rovio tried to stick to those real laws in their game play.  After tackling the physics of outer space they seem to now be enjoying the addition of these types of new elements in their games.  The new levels also come with a preview version of the next Rovio game, Amazing Alex.

Temple Run is another free, addicting game.  After stealing the idol you try to run for your life from the apes that want their idol back.  Along the way you will have to jump, turn, and slide to avoid the obstacles while staying a step ahead of your simian chasers.  In the new game, called Temple Run Brave, Imangi partnered with Disney and Pixar to bring the movie Brave to the world of Temple Run.  Aside from the new runner and pursuer, it’s still basically the same great game.  This version, however, will set you back $0.99.
