Cable Companies to offer Wireless Service

The city and state of Hawaii have broadband access available in a lot of the public transportation here as a incentive for people to take public transportation. I would love to be able to get work done while in transit but sadly public transportation is not a viable option for me. It seems though that the cable companies are worried about their dominance in the broadband delivery market and are pushing to start offering some wireless services. If it’s free and goes along with your home service I am all for it but if it cost more forget it.

We are fast approaching a level of connectivity that will result in true 24/7 connectivity. [www.thewirelessreport.com]

This sounds like a great if it would work here. I have a few clients that are away from town and can’t get broadband. If this would make that possible and get them more speed, I’m all for it.

I’d also welcome it for my personal use if the extra cost didn’t get out of hand. I spend well enough for broadband and would be willing to add a few extra dollars for wireless access from anywere.
